8.3. How to set targets?
Having clear objectives and knowing how to distinguish the main from the secondary in our professional activity is a fundamental skill that must be developed. In today's world, it is not enough to "just get by, to get by day by day", it is essential to set ourselves a goal towards which we guide all our work. This is probably the best way to optimise our time and effort. Let's see what characteristics a project's objectives must have in order to be effective.
CASE: ONLINE CONTENT
Monica has been commissioned to lead a project to transform the content of a major paper-based encyclopaedia into web-enabled content.
Monica calls a working meeting and comes to it with an outline of all the steps prior to planning, she knows that the first thing to do is to design objectives.
The need to design objectives Carlos, a member of the team, thinks that the tasks can be divided up and the prior design of objectives can be dispensed with, since everyone already has them in their heads.
