TEAMWORK, LEADERSHIP AND NEGOTIATION
product. • The process and outcome of the project will depend on multiple factors, some of which can be controlled, others not, and their influence will be reflected in the final product. • Complexity: A project requires a combination of resources and activities to achieve a given end product or service within a predefined time period. Projects can be carried out with own resources or with external collaboration. Imagine a publishing project; external staff (subject matter experts, illustrators, etc.) may have to be recruited and coordinated. The complexity of some projects may be increased by the geographical separation of the companies involved. Temporality: A project has a life cycle. It is a process with a beginning and an end. The end is determined by deadlines set in its planning. Being aware of this time limit throughout the process and acting accordingly is very important for the objectives to be achieved in an optimal way. Acting in haste at the last moment may result in the final product not meeting the quality expectations set at the beginning. Teamwork: This is the methodology par excellence in project work. A project requires a team of people to carry it out. Teams made up of multidisciplinary professionals mark the new concept of competitiveness. An organised, well-trained and cohesive team is essential to successfully achieve the objectives. A market researcher only produces data; for data to be effective, he or she will need the intervention of the marketing, production and service specialist.
