TEAMWORK, LEADERSHIP AND NEGOTIATION
the work is carried out by separate individuals. • The need for contact reinforces the importance of building a team spirit • When social needs are frustrated, the individual may behave in a hostile manner and negatively influence the company's objectives.
Needs of the self
Needs related to self-esteem: self-esteem, achievement, competence, etc., and those related to recognition by others: respect, status, etc. These are difficult to satisfy.
Once they appear, the individual strives indefinitely to satisfy them more and more. They arise when basic, security and social needs are met.
Motivation related to recognition is very important and a good leader must know how to use it.
Self-realisation needs
It is the need to give life to our own potential for continuous development. It is the feeling of being constantly satisfied with what we do.
Many altruistic, giving behaviours are motivated by the needs of this last link.
6.4. Motivational skills
Is it possible to motivate and can I influence the motivation of others by the way I act? But isn't motivation something very personal?
Individuals leading a team of people have asked themselves these questions at one time or another. We could answer all of them in the affirmative. While it is true that motivation is an individual process and implies a willingness to act, it is also true that the behaviour of the person leading the team can foster this willingness.
