MANUAL TEAMWORK, LEADERSHIP AND NEGOTIATION

TEAMWORK, LEADERSHIP AND NEGOTIATION

• Think about the best way to approach the criticism according to the interlocutor. • List possible changes and alternatives for discussion.

Effective communication

It is important that all team members develop communication skills that support the process of communicating with each other.

In the role of the team coordinator, this premise is fundamental. If we do not know how to communicate well, we will not be able to convince, persuade, motivate, transmit, etc. If communication fails in a company, we can be sure that conflicts will increase, motivation will decrease, the working atmosphere will become strained and consequently performance will decrease.

Do not get carried away by personal affinities or emotions. Prioritise reflection over acting on impulse:

I had just had a tough discussion with Raul on a non-business issue. Later, when I gave my opinion in the meeting, I thought he would not support it. However, he listened attentively, appreciated my idea and defended it". Raul was able to differentiate the task from a possible personal conflict with this individual. This is not always easy to achieve, given that emotions are closely linked to us and condition many of our responses.

Balanced self-confidence

Raúl is a leader who is valued by his team. Moreover, he is confident in his own ability, but at the same time he admits his mistakes and often asks himself how to improve his performance.
