CASE: TWO DIFFERENT ATTITUDES
1. I can't stand José Luis, he's going too far. I know he is going to crash with his last decision, because I know this client and I worked on a similar project a year ago. But I'm not going to pass on information to him. I don't care if the project fails. I just want to see his temper go down.
2. I'm going to stay for lunch at work today. Ana needs a hand with project evaluation.
The first project is in the doldrums due to a poor relationship between the team members.
In the second case, you will agree that if success depended only on collaboration between members, we would be assured of success.
Communication or information?
It is common to hear the comment: "There is a lack of communication in our society".
What a paradox! Feeling cut off in the information society? In fact, informing and communicating are two interconnected but different concepts.
Communicating involves sharing. Communication is a process whereby one person contacts another person with a message and expects a response in the form of an opinion, attitude or behaviour. It is a two-way process. Information is the transmission of a message, it is a unidirectional process, it does not always presuppose communication. It is true that it is increasingly difficult for us to express ourselves, to communicate with our neighbours. To communicate, it is not enough to talk.
