TEAMWORK, LEADERSHIP AND NEGOTIATION

10. Was the meeting adequately prepared? 11. Was there a closing time and was it respected?

7.2. How to prepare meeting

In the meeting, a whole series of conscious, unconscious, verbal and non- verbal elements that identify the team as such come to the fore. It is the moment of maximum interaction, of joint participation. Decisions will be made, discussions will be held, evaluations will be carried out... The way in which the meeting is carried out can condition decisive aspects for the team. We are going to apply the different phases of a meeting, in order to offer you a series of guidelines to follow in each one of them. It is essential to start the meeting at the agreed time. Isn't waiting for absentees as an act of courtesy a lack of consideration for those who have been punctual? It is advisable to make a brief introduction, thanking people for their participation, reminding them of the purpose of the meeting, and giving a few motivational phrases to the group, even if the meeting is to discuss a difficult topic, such as the failure of a project. A secretary shall be appointed to take notes of relevant points and possible agreements. The agenda will then be read out, in case any member wishes to include a new item. 1. Opening phase

2. Analysis and discussion phase

Let us all try to assess what happened. We could start with our perceptions: did we run out of time, did we lack preparation, were we demotivated, was the project too ambitious?
